Child/Adolescent Therapy

Therapy for children

Today children experience so many more challenges than ever before. Children often encounter anxiety provoking situations which can profoundly affect their behavior and the way they see the world. These situations may include peer conflict, bullying, change in schools, increasing school demands, parental divorce, blending families, and change in living situation, amongst many other circumstances.

In addition to helping children deal with every day stressors, I also specialize in providing therapy for children to address disorders including:

· Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

· Anxiety

· Depression

· Selective Mutism

· Elimination Issues (Enuresis/Encopresis)

· Social Skill Deficits

· Tantrum Behaviors

· School Refusal

I provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavior Modification, and Social Skills training to children to assist them in decreasing the impact of both childhood disorders and daily stressors. In addition to providing direct therapy to children, I partner with parents to provide them with skills to best support their child’s success outside of therapy.

Therapy for Teens

Teenagers today face a tremendous amount of pressure; especially with the onset of social media and the increasing expectations to achieve and succeed in an image oriented society. The forces impacting teens can have a significant effect on their well-being and can create feelings of anxiety, distress, and despair.

In addition helping teens cope with ongoing pressures, I specialize in providing treatment for teens experiencing issues including:

· Social Anxiety Disorder

· Depression

· Attention Deficit Disorder

· Difficult Peer Relationships/Bullying

· Suicidal Ideation

· Social Skill Deficits

· Substance use/experimentation

I support teens in using Cognitive Behavioral skills to create a more balanced perspective of the world around them so they can better cope with daily stressors. I also provide teens with a safe and non-judgmental environment where they can work to overcome their personal challenges and grow to meet their full potential.
