Parenting
Parenting can be one of the most rewarding roles in someone’s life; it can also be one of the most challenging. Parents are always well intentioned in trying to best determine how to handle their child’s behaviors. However, there are times when even the most well intentioned parents struggle with knowing how to best parent their child while supporting them as they move through the different stages of development.
Being a Therapist and a parent, I understand the challenges that parents face all too well. Utilizing Positive Parenting skills, I support parents in identifying the best approach to help their child with resolving distressing behaviors so they can successfully reach their next stage of development.
Parent-Teen Relationship Building
Many changes can come once you become the parent of a teen. Unfortunately, teen hood can also bring a change in the relationship with your child. It can feel at times that the old way of fixing problems no longer works and your teenager is testing the limits more than ever. It can often be straining trying to understand how to improve the relationship between you and your teenager.
Using Positive Parenting strategies and constructive communication skills, I collaborate with both parents and teens to help them forge a more positive relationship for the future.
